The Art Auction is Fringe’s major fundraiser. 50% of proceeds from the sale of artwork is paid direct to the artist with the other 50% going towards the 2025 Fringe Festival.
All mediums and sizes accepted along with items for our silent auction.

When is Castlemaine Fringe 2025 on?Our 2025 festival will run from 22nd March to 6th April 2025.

What is an Open Access Festival?An Open Access festival means anyone can put on an event / show. All works are presented by the artists or their independent producers. Castlemaine Fringe is an open access festival. We also curate and present some of our own events such as our Opening Night Street Party, Monster Mash Family Day Picnic and side shows / after parties in our Fringe Hub.

How do I buy tickets to events?Tickets to events will go on sale on the 14th February 2025. Tickets will be available directly from our website or at the Fringe Hub Box Office.

What kind of event can I put on?Our open access program has 7 event categories and we welcome all applications: Music Theatre & Fabulous Theatrics Comedy Social Impact Workshops Film & Literature Exhibitions & Open Studios

Is there a registration fee?Registration fees to be included in our printed and online program are: $95 for ticketed $95 for exhibitions and open studios $30 for free events Fees can be paid online when an application is completed in Eventotron.

What does the registration fees cover?The open access registration fee entitles you to the following: An event listing and link to tickets on the Castlemaine Fringe website An image, description and event details in our printed program Box office ticketing services and support Marketing and communications support and 3 social media posts per event Free workshops on how to take part and how to make the most of your Fringe experience Advice, support and encouragement from the Castlemaine Fringe team.

Does Fringe allocate venues and performance times?We have access to a range of venues for small, medium (0-80) and large (80-250) seat venues (more if it’s a standing event). Partner Venues include our Fringe Hub, local pubs and bars, an art deco cinema, a range of community halls and the Phee Broadway Theatre. If you have already confirmed a venue, date and time with a venue, please let us know during your event registration. If you do not have a venue, we will do our best to find a suitable venue for you.
